THE INTERNATIONAL FOREST DAY IN BANJA LUKA AT THE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES AND ARTS OF REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA

The General Assembly of the United Nations adopted a resolution according to which the 21st March is declared as International Forest Day.
Starting from the global importance of forests and the fact that more than 50% of the area in the Republic of Srpska is categorized as forests and forestland, the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Republic of Srpska – Committee for Biotechnical Sciences of the Department Mathematical, Natural and Technical Sciences, traditionally celebrates the International Day of Forest and on that occasion organizes a round table discussion. The aim of this Round Table is to contribute to rise awareness of forests importance as global resource and its importance in economy of the Republic of Srpska.
This year (2019) is dedicated to the importance of education in forestry, which is actually the topic of this year's gathering. The most competent researchers from the region (Czech Republic, Serbia and Republic of Srpska) will give the speeches.
The round table will be held on Thursday, March 21st, 2019, at the building of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Republic of Srpska, starting at 10.30 a.m.
