INAUGURATION OF PETER HANDKE AS THE FOREIGN MEMBER OF THE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES AND ARTS OF REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA

Academy of Sciences and Arts of Republic of Srpska elected, as its foreign member, distinguished writer Peter Handke. Peter Handke is one of the most important modern writer of German language, who defended the Serbian people on the international level during the last civil war in Yugoslavia.
The ceremony took place in Belgrade on April 8, 2013 in conference hall of hotel ``Moscow`` at 6 p.m. Beside the members of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Republic of Srpska and Serbian Academy of Sciences, the many other representatives from public and cultural life of Republic of Srpska and Serbia took a part in the ceremony.
The president of the Academy academician Rajko Kuzmanovic opened the festive session and handled the signs of the Academy to Peter Handke, and academicians Aleksa Buha and Gojko Djogo hold a word on the work of Peter Handke.
Peter Handke expressed specia personal pleasure being elected member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Republic of Srpska.
